This photo of author Melanie Martinez was created a few months ago for Arizona Highways Magazine. I'm always looking for the narrative when creating a photo. When I saw this sign on the window it was all there. The sign was part of her family history, the only question was just how to compose it and light it. My choice in that case was just to make it look as natural as possible.
